Part 5 - Special Features
TD Drum Studio has many special features that will make your life easier when working with it. i will describe some of them here.

Self Test a Drum Kit

What happend if you have a large Drum Kit collection in your Kit Bank, but you dont remember exactly how each sound?
Using the Self Test feature, you can Quickly upload a Drum Kit into a pre-determine "Testing Slot", and check how it sounds. TD Studio will even select the Drum Kit Testing Slot on your TD Module for you!
Testing a Drum Kit can be done by selecting it and press Ctrl+T or by right clicking on it and choose "Self Test" from the popup menu. Before you can test a Drum Kit, you must first configure which Slot will be your testing slot, using the Configuration Menu.
Keep in mind that The Testing Slot will be automaticlly overwritten whenever you test a drum kit. This is why i personally like to choose the last Drum Kit Slot as my testing slot (I Own a TD-12, so its Drum Kit Slot #50).

Here is a small example of how its done:

First you need to configure a which Drum Kit Slot you want to use as your Testing Slot. This is done from the Configuration Dialog

Config Testing Slot
Again i reming you that whenever you will perform a Drum Kit Test, this slot will be overwritten, so think good which Slot you can sacrifice for this matter.

Second, Select a Drum Kit you want to Test on your Drum Kit and Right Click on it.
In the Popup Menu, you will have can now see the Self Test Option. Clicking on it will Immediatly upload the Drum Kit into the Testing Slot you configured before.
TD Studio will also
Test Drumkit Status Window
change the current Drum Kit on your TD Module. and you will also receive confirmation for your action on the
Kit Bank Popup Menu - Choose Self Test
Status Window.
You perform this action even quicker, by pressing just choosing the Drum Kit you want to test and just press the Ctrl+T Shortcut.
Thats it! :)

QuickAdd a Drum Kit to the Module Window

You can add single Drum Kit to the module window quickly, one by one, without having to Drag and Drop it - by Double Clicking the Drum Kit in the Kit Bank.
in this way you can add different drum kits from various folders in the Kit Bank directly to your module window quickly.
dont forget to make sure you selected which TD Module you are using in the combobox and a slot from which the drumkits will be copied to.
Note that if a slot has a drumkit assign to it, the drumkit will be overwritten. if no Slot is selected on the Module Window - nothing will happend.

Rename DrumKits

You can rename your drum kits directly from your Kit Bank window.
just choose your Drum Kit and press F2 or make a single click on it with your mouse on it to activate the renaming process.
TD Drum Studio will automaticlly limit your to the number of charecters your module supports.
Using special charecters like * or / or \ may result in all sort of drawings implemented in your module font buy please note that some strange charecters may result in an unknown result.
since i dont have all TD Modules, i can check what will happend if i put, for example, ~ sign in the drumkit name.
I will be happy if you report to me with various results so i can update people about them.

Drag Entire Folders

TD Drum Studio allows you to drag Entire Folders into the Module Window.
Using this feature, you can create folders containing your favorites Drum Kits Collection and drag them all in once.
You have to make sure that the number of items in the folder do not exceed the number of free slots. For Example, if you have a folder with 10 Items, and you are using TD-12 Module (which contains 50 Drum Kits Max) - you can drag it to any free slot between 1 to 40. if you will drag it to slot number 20, it will fill all slots between 20 to 30.
If you have a folder with 50 Drum Kits, you can drag it only to Slot number 1 and it will fill the entire Module Window.
